In 1867 the shape of the skirt begins to change from the "bell" shape of the Civil War period to a bustle. The smaller, flatter style hats of the Civil War period are transformed into lushes bouquets of flowers, feathers and ribbons piled high on top the hats. As you will see...the hairstyles also increase in size by the addition of multiple hairpieces.
